The 2018 Barbara Page Dermatology Nurse of the Year has been awarded joinlty to Sobia Regi and Mary Fergus from  Dermatology Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

SDNS nurse of year 2018.jpgBoth have worked in Dermatology for many years.   During restructuring of the service they had to make many changes in both their personal and professional lives in stepping up to the role of lead nurses within an area they were not familiar with. They were challenged to redesign   the phototherapy service to enable reduction of the  9 month waiting list to within a   6 week target. They had little management or decision making   experience in redesign but through their tenacity and commitment   to  patient care they have now reaches a zero waiting time.
